The book, ‘Idle Idol The Japanese mascot’, collects many weird and wonderful 3D characters found all over Japan. Meet the legendary Kappa who eats children and cucumbers, Pipo-kun the Tokyo police force’s orange alien, Anpanman, the Mickey Mouse of Japan and many more. To promote this incredible book I designed a website and set up a Facebook and Flickr group to encourage fans to share their own photos of 'Idle Idols'. From its launch, the site has seen over 80,000 visitors and average visit duration is a healthy 1 minute and 11 seconds. The book and my companion site have been featured in several high profile blogs and magazines, such as Wired and Boing Boing, and have received many positive reviews.
