Hello, I’m John
I’m a freelance digital designer living and working in London. I’ve worked for a myriad of agencies and clients. I'm currently taking on short or long term contracts.
Background
I grew up in Milton Keynes and completed a BA in Birmingham and an MA in Sequential Design at the University of Brighton. When I moved to London I started working for Nickelodeon. After a few years, I went freelance, worked for several agencies, authored a book and then was offered a permanent role at Myspace. I worked at John Brown Media for nine years and in September 2019 I went freelance.
Skills
My main skills lie within UI design but I’m also experienced in UX, illustration, animation, filming, editing and prototyping. As an art director I have experience briefing freelancers, commissioning illustrators, managing junior designers and presenting ideas to stakeholders.
Strong skills using Sketch, Figma, XD, Framer, Webflow, Invision, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
I'm also a black belt in Taekwondo, a street art fan, I enjoy a bit of baking and cycling too.
